Roles and Responsibilites
-Lead annual sales planning, strategy design, and execution to achieve volume, revenue, mix and profitability targets across assigned markets.
-Drive P&L ownership for the region, ensuring disciplined trade spends, A&P optimisation, and profitable customer/channel development.
-Strengthen RTM / GTM frameworks across General Trade, Modern Trade, HoReCa, and Key Accounts to maximise distribution, assortment depth and numeric/weighted reach.
-Build, manage, and mentor high-performing sales teams; enhance capability, productivity, and frontline execution excellence.
-Formulate and implement channel-specific activation calendars, trade marketing programs, pricing strategies, and market promotions to accelerate growth and premiumisation.
-Lead strategic partnerships with distributors, channel partners, key accounts and category influencers to drive market penetration and share gain.
-Monitor competitive landscape, pricing movements, category shifts, consumer insights and regulatory developments (excise, licensing, etc.) to guide business decisions.
-Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Demand Planning and Commercial to ensure alignment and delivery of business goals.
-Own forecasting, S&OP alignment, demand visibility and inventory health to ensure optimal product availability and service levels.
-Drive new business/city/state openings — including distributor onboarding, infrastructure readiness, performance targets and compliance requirements.
Skills and qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Business / Marketing / Commerce or related field; MBA / Post-Graduation preferred.
-10–15 years of total commercial experience, with strong exposure to Alcobev / FMCG / Consumer categories.
-Proven experience in leading sales teams across multiple states / regions, with strong distributor management capability.
-Deep understanding of trade landscape — on-premise, off-premise, modern trade, key accounts, and premium trade channels.
Demonstrated success in building GTM strategies, driving revenue growth, and delivering P&L outcomes.
-Strong understanding of state excise frameworks, pricing norms, regulatory nuances, and compliance requirements.
-High proficiency in data-driven decision-making — strong command over forecasting, budgeting, S&OP planning, and ROI-led activation models.
-Advanced MS Office skills — Excel, PowerPoint, reporting tools; familiarity with CRM / sales automation tech is a strong plus.
-Excellent stakeholder management and influencing ability — distributors, trade partners, internal leadership, and cross-functional teams.
-Strong people leadership skills with prior experience handling zonal / state sales teams.
-Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building capabilities.
-High level of agility, resilience, and the ability to operate in an evolving, fast-paced market environment.
