About the Company
Roles and Responsibilites
Technology Strategy & Architecture: Create and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap covering e-commerce, omnichannel retail, logistics integrations, customer experience, and AI-driven initiatives. Define scalable architectures across Shopify, ERP, OMS, mobile platforms, data infrastructure, and cloud services.
Product & Engineering Leadership: Partner closely with Product, Design, Marketing, and Merchandising teams to translate business objectives into technical execution. Lead sprint planning, system design, engineering delivery, QA, and release management, including AI-powered demand forecasting, merchandising intelligence, and work-efficiency systems.
Omnichannel & Backend Integrations: Own integrations across Shopify, ERP (MS D365 BC), payment systems, retail POS, inventory services, and middleware (API/SQS pipelines). Ensure real-time inventory accuracy, allocation logic, fulfilment workflows, and multi-store orchestration.
Retail Technology: Drive phygital store POS optimisation, RFID-enabled inventory accuracy, unified customer profiles, and hyper-personalised experiences. Implement footfall analysis, heat mapping, store analytics, digital experiential screens, and guided displays. Deploy in-store AI tools such as visual search, assisted styling, voice-enabled interfaces, and AI-driven site performance optimisation (search and recommendations).
AI & Automation: Lead adoption of AI across styling, merchandising, logistics, marketing content, customer support, dashboards, and workflows. Experiment with agents, LLMs, and automation to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
Performance & Reliability: Champion platform speed, uptime, security, and scalability across customer-facing and internal systems. Apply data-driven monitoring, profiling tools, and observability practices to maintain system health.
Security, Governance & Compliance: Ensure secure data handling, robust access controls, audit trails, backup policies, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership & Culture: Build and mentor an engineering and technology operations team grounded in curiosity, ownership, and craftsmanship. Foster a culture of continuous learning with strong alignment to organisational values.
Skills and qualifications
Technical Skills
- 10–15 years of deep experience with e-commerce platforms, preferably Shopify, including custom integrations.
- Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, message queues, and cloud-native architectures.
- Hands-on backend engineering experience (Node.js/JavaScript preferred), with solid knowledge of databases such as MySQL and MongoDB, along with exposure to modern frontend frameworks.
- Working knowledge of retail technology ecosystems, including POS, inventory management, OMS, payments, and logistics integrations.
- Familiarity with data pipelines, dashboards, analytics, and reporting platforms.
- Exposure to AI, LLMs, automation workflows, or ML-enabled product capabilities.
Product & Business Skills
- Proven ability to translate business objectives into clear, actionable product and technical requirements.
- Strong prioritisation, roadmap planning, and cross-stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Experience managing rapid release cycles, A/B experimentation, customer experience enhancements, and performance optimisation initiatives.
Leadership Skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and scale a small, high-impact engineering team.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners and managing external vendors or agencies.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and alignment capabilities.
- A decisive, problem-solving, and outcome-oriented leadership approach.
