Roles and Responsibilites

  1. Business Strategy & Growth

· Define and execute the national sales strategy for the Electricals business in line with organizational objectives.

· Drive revenue growth, volume expansion, market share, and contribution margins across electrical product categories.

· Identify and develop growth opportunities across residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure segments.

· Develop annual operating plans, sales budgets, and forecasts.

  1. Channel Sales & Distribution Development

· Build, expand, and govern a robust distributor, dealer, and retailer network for electrical products.

· Strengthen presence in Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 markets.

· Drive channel productivity through coverage expansion, visibility programs, and trade schemes.

· Leverage existing building materials channels, where relevant, for cross-selling Electricals products.

  1. Key Accounts, Projects & Institutional Sales

· Lead engagement with large developers, builders, EPCs, OEMs, government bodies, and institutional buyers.

· Drive project specifications, approvals, and bulk supply contracts for electrical products.

· Oversee large-deal structuring, negotiations, and closure with a focus on margin discipline.

· Ensure effective execution of project sales from order booking to fulfillment.

  1. Sales Team Leadership & Capability Building

· Build, lead, and mentor a pan-India Electricals sales organization including regional heads, ASMs/RSMs, and project sales teams.

· Define targets, KPIs, incentive structures, and performance governance.

· Drive a high-performance culture with strong review, coaching, and training mechanisms.

  1. Product, Market & Application Alignment (Sales Perspective)

· Work closely with Product, R&D, and Manufacturing teams to ensure market-led product development.

· Provide market inputs on product design, quality, pricing, and application requirements.

· Support new product launches, portfolio rationalization, and competitive benchmarking.

  1. Pricing, Profitability & Commercial Governance

· Define and enforce pricing frameworks, discount policies, and commercial terms.

· Monitor margins, price realization, credit exposure, and receivables.

· Ensure compliance with commercial policies, statutory requirements, and ethical standards.

  1. Brand Building & Trade Marketing

· Partner with Marketing to drive brand visibility and preference among electricians, contractors, and influencers.

· Lead electrician engagement programs, trade activations, dealer meets, and exhibitions.

· Strengthen positioning as a reliable, high-quality electrical solutions provider.

  1. Cross-Functional & Portfolio Collaboration

· Collaborate with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure service levels, availability, and customer satisfaction.

· Work with Finance on credit control, collections, and profitability management.

· Drive alignment with allied product categories for enterprise accounts and bundled offerings.

Skills and qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related discipline; MBA/PGDM preferred.

· 15–20 years of strong experience in channel sales, project sales & institutional business within building materials, electrical accessories or construction related product
