Roles and Responsibilites

This comprehensive leadership role centers on end-to-end category lifecycle management, from trend-led collection development and strategic Open-To-Buy (OTB) planning to optimized order placement and promotional execution. By leveraging market research and real-time sales monitoring, the leader ensures a high-performing shoeline while maintaining rigorous stock health through the elimination of slow-movers and the replenishment of bestsellers. Beyond procurement, the role drives operational excellence by designing robust MIS and logistics systems, planning merchandise for new store launches, and spearheading organizational growth through proactive succession planning and team mentorship.

Skills and qualifications

The ideal candidate for this high-stakes leadership role will possess a sophisticated blend of commercial acumen and operational expertise, typically backed by an MBA or a Master’s degree in Fashion Management (e.g., NIFT) and 10+ years of retail experience. Core competencies include mastery of Open-To-Buy (OTB) planning, P&L ownership, and advanced merchandise analytics to drive high-margin profitability. Technical proficiency in SAP, CRM systems, and data visualization tools (like Power BI or Tableau) is essential for optimizing inventory throughput and forecasting trends.
