About the Company

Our client is an established NBFC with established business. As a part of their next phase of growth, they are looking to diversify their product portfolio and looking for a seasoned risk leader in this critical role.

Roles and Responsibilites

As Head of Risk you will own the overall credit and risk strategy for the organization.

Define and evolve the risk appetite, credit strategy, and portfolio frameworks aligned to growth and capital efficiency.

Own underwriting policies, scorecards, cut-offs, and test-learn-scale frameworks across products and customer segments.

Lead risk analytics, model governance, challenger frameworks, and early warning systems.

Drive portfolio monitoring, ECL/provisioning, roll rates, vintages, and pricing/limit strategies to protect unit economics.

Build robust fraud prevention and identity controls across digital channels.

Design and oversee compliant, customer-centric collections and recovery strategies.

Anchor a regulatory-first culture, chair Risk/Credit forums, and ensure strong governance and audit readiness.

Partner with lenders, bureaus, insurers, and capital partners as the face of risk.

Build and mentor high-performing teams across credit policy, analytics, fraud, and collections.

Present portfolio insights and risk outlook to leadership, Board, and investors.

Skills and qualifications

Tier 1 MBA or CA with 15+ years in consumer lending risk/credit within fintech, NBFC, or banking.

Proven experience scaling portfolios while maintaining disciplined loss metrics.

Deep expertise in underwriting, portfolio analytics, credit models, and ECL frameworks.

Strong regulatory and governance orientation.

Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders across product, tech, growth, and operations.

Data-driven mindset with strong commercial judgment and bias for action.
