Vice President - Investments (Mumbai/Bangalore)
About the Company
Our client is a leading early-stage venture capital fund backing frontier innovation across sectors such as energy, supply chains, advanced materials, robotics, AI, manufacturing, and agriculture. They are looking to hire a Vice President – Investments to lead investment transactions end-to-end and partner closely with portfolio companies to drive value creation and strong investor outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilites
● Own sourcing of high-quality investment opportunities by leveraging industry networks, deep market research, AI tools and conducting proactive outreach
● Develop and lead investment theses by mapping innovation frontiers, analyzing emerging technologies, identifying whitespace opportunities, and assessing long-term scalability, capital efficiency, and global relevance
● Lead due diligence processes, including advanced market analysis, tech/product validation, financial modeling, competitive landscaping, risk assessment, and synthesizing insights into clear investment recommendations
● Leverage data and AI tools to enhance deal sourcing, automate insights extraction, benchmark startups, and streamline investment workflows
● Drive deal execution by supporting term sheet negotiations, drafting investment memos, coordinating with legal and finance teams, and managing transaction documentation and closure
● Partner with portfolio companies on value creation & strategic guidance on strategy, org buildout, business development, capital planning, and performance tracking
● Represent the fund in industry dialogues, founder communities, accelerators, and thought-leadership forums
Skills and qualifications
● 5 - 8 years of experience in investing/ strategy consulting/ operating roles at high-growth startups or large enterprises. Exposure to frontier sectors- energy, mobility, industrials, manufacturing, robotics, biotech, AI- is a plus.
● Highly motivated, self-starter with strong ownership mindset, bold imagination, and deep intellectual curiosity, especially around emerging technologies and frontier solutions
● Proven ability to lead research, and business case development, including designing and executing primary and secondary research, connecting weak signals across sectors, and translating insight into actionable investment theses
● Comfort with using AI-powered tools (e.g., GPT, web scrapers, data visualizers) to augment research, automate workflows, and synthesize large datasets or unstructured information
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas clearly, collaborate effectively in a lean team, and influence stakeholders across contexts
● Impeccable standards of integrity, confidentiality, and judgment when handling sensitive or proprietary information
