Roles and Responsibilites

  • NPD & Product Development

o Lead development of Namkeen and Frozen Food product lines from concept to market launch.

o Manage formulation, trials, sensory evaluation, and shelf-life testing.

o Conduct market benchmarking to ensure competitive product positioning.

o Collaborate with packaging, quality, and procurement teams for product readiness.

  • Category Management

o Build category strategy including pricing, assortment, pack sizes, margins, and customer segments.

o Monitor category performance, sales trends, and consumer insights to optimize portfolio.

o Identify gaps and plan product pipelines accordingly.

  • Vendor & Manufacturing Management

o Identify and onboard suitable contract manufacturers for both categories.

o Conduct facility audits, negotiate terms, and oversee production and quality standards.

o Coordinate with supply chain to ensure availability, cost efficiency, and timely replenishment.

  • Go-To-Market (GTM)

o Support GTM planning including launch timelines, product marketing inputs, packaging briefs, and positioning.

o Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and operations for seamless execution.

o Monitor product performance post-launch and drive continuous improvement.

  • Compliance & Quality

o Ensure products meet food safety norms and regulatory requirements.

o Work with QA teams to maintain consistent quality across batches.

Skills and qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Biotechnology, Agriculture, or related fields OR Graduate/Postgraduate in Engineering; MBA preferred.
  • Additional certification/experience in NPD, Category Management, or Food Safety is a plus.

Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience in Namkeen, Snacks, Frozen Foods, Savory Foods, or related packaged food categories.
  • Track record of launching products end-to-end in a growing consumer food environment.
  • Experience of managing co-manufacturers and working with cross-functional teams.

Skills/Key Competencies

  • Strong understanding of food formulation, processing, and quality standards.
  • Commercial acumen with an ability to drive margins and P&L metrics.
  • Vendor negotiation and vendor development skills.
  • Strong analytical and category planning capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setup.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
