About the Company
Our client is a leading fast growing manufacturer in the building materials segment, now focusing on expanding its base to tier 2 and 3 cities that strengthen India’s national stance in the global market.
Roles and Responsibilites
- Procurement Strategy & Vendor Management
o Develop and execute procurement strategies for raw materials (cement, steel, aggregates, etc.), packaging, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) supplies.
o Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers/vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
o Negotiate contracts, SLAs, and long-term agreements with suppliers.
o Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular vendor audits.
- Cost Optimization & Budget Control
o Analyze market trends and pricing to secure the best procurement deals.
o Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
o Track procurement spend and ensure adherence to budgets.
- Supply Chain Risk Management
o Assess risks (price volatility, geopolitical factors, logistics delays) and develop mitigation plans.
o Maintain alternative supplier networks to prevent disruptions.
o Ensure compliance with local/international procurement regulations.
- Process Improvement & Digital Procurement
o Streamline procurement workflows using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
o Leverage e-procurement tools and data analytics for decision-making.
o Implement best practices in inventory and demand planning.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
o Work with Production, Logistics, and Finance teams to align procurement with business needs.
o Coordinate with the Quality team to ensure material specifications are met.
Skills and qualifications
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business Administration.
15+ years in procurement, preferably in building materials, construction, or manufacturing.
Experience in strategic sourcing, vendor development, and contract negotiation.
Strong knowledge of procurement software (SAP Ariba, Coupa, etc.)
Expertise in market analysis, cost modeling, and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).
Familiarity with logistics, import/export, and Incoterms.
