• Technology Strategy & Leadership

Define and drive the technology roadmap aligned with the organization’s vision in battery materials and energy storage

Lead innovation in next-generation battery technologies (Li-ion, advanced chemistries, emerging storage solutions)

Act as a key advisor to the leadership team on technology trends, investments, and competitive positioning

• R&D & Product Development

Lead global R&D initiatives across battery materials, components, and performance optimization

Oversee development and commercialization of new products from concept to scale

Drive collaboration with research institutions, technology partners, and industry bodies

• Commercialization & Scale-Up

Translate R&D innovations into scalable, commercially viable solutions

Support manufacturing scale-up, process optimization, and technology transfer

Ensure alignment between R&D, manufacturing, and business teams

• Global Collaboration & Partnerships

Build strategic alliances with global stakeholders, including customers, partners, and academia

Represent the organization in global forums, strengthening its position in the energy transition ecosystem

• Team Leadership & Capability Building

Build and lead a high-performing global R&D and technology team

Drive a culture of innovation, agility, and scientific excellence

Mentor senior technical leaders and establish strong succession pipelines

• IP & Regulatory Strategy

Drive intellectual property development and protection

Ensure compliance with global regulatory and sustainability standards

Monitor emerging regulations and industry standards in battery technologies

Qualifications

• Master’s/Bachelor’s in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• 15+ years of experience in battery technology, energy storage, or advanced materials

Skills

• Proven leadership experience in R&D and technology-driven organizations
• Deep expertise in Li-ion batteries, battery materials, or next-gen chemistries
• Strong track record of innovation, patents, and commercialization of technologies
• Experience working in global or cross-cultural environments (expat experience preferred)
• Strong strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities
