About the Company

A leading multinational footwear and retail organization with a strong legacy and pan-India presence across retail, manufacturing, supply chain, and franchise operations. The company is looking to hire a Senior Manager – Legal to oversee legal support for business operations across regions, with a focus on litigation management, labour and employment law, manufacturing contracts, compliance governance, and employee relations matters. The role also includes driving legal process digitization, DPDP compliance initiatives, contract lifecycle management, and partnering closely with business and HR stakeholders while leading a small legal team.

Roles and Responsibilites

  • Oversee legal support for Retail, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Franchise operations across regions
  • Handle litigation matters and coordinate legal cases across India
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, labour regulations, and corporate governance requirements
  • Independently manage disciplinary actions, employee inquiries, terminations, and closures
  • Advise business and HR teams on employee relations, grievances, and labour law matters
  • Draft, review, and negotiate manufacturing and commercial contracts
  • Maintain legal documentation, IP logs, litigation trackers, and compliance records
  • Manage Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems and legal case management tools
  • Develop standardized contract templates, legal checklists, and automation processes
  • Monitor compliance calendars and support legal audits and governance activities
  • Support DPDP Act compliance, privacy assessments, and risk mitigation initiatives
  • Prepare legal MIS reports and maintain legal data through digital tools and platforms
  • Coordinate with external counsel, internal stakeholders, and regional business teams
  • Lead and manage a small legal team while ensuring timely execution of legal priorities

Skills and qualifications

**Skills Required:**

  • Strong knowledge of corporate, labour, employment, and manufacturing laws
  • Litigation management and dispute resolution expertise
  • Contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of compliance, governance, and regulatory frameworks
  • Knowledge of DPDP Act and data privacy compliance
  • Experience with CLM systems, legal tech tools, and legal automation processes
  • Stakeholder management and business partnering skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Team management and leadership capabilities
  • Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in legal MIS reporting and Excel-based tracking systems

**Qualifications & Experience:**

  • LL.B degree from a reputed institution
  • 15+ years of experience in corporate legal functions and/or reputed law firms
  • Prior experience in retail, manufacturing, supply chain, FMCG, consumer, or franchise-led businesses preferred
  • Experience handling labour law, union matters, disciplinary actions, and litigation across regions
  • Exposure to compliance management, governance frameworks, and legal operations digitization preferred
