The client is a leading Indian automotive component manufacturing organisation with a strong domestic and global presence, catering to leading OEMs across passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and industrial segments.

Roles and Responsibilites

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and execute the overall HR strategy aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the leadership team on organisation design, workforce planning, succession planning, and culture transformation.
  • Drive HR transformation initiatives, digitisation, and process excellence across the organisation.

Industrial Relations & Plant HR

  • Lead Industrial Relations strategy across manufacturing facilities with a strong focus on union management and maintaining harmonious employee relations.
  • Handle long-term wage settlements, negotiations, disciplinary matters, statutory compliance, and labour law governance.
  • Build strong engagement frameworks for blue-collar workforce and plant leadership teams.
  • Drive productivity improvement initiatives in collaboration with operations teams.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee end-to-end HR operations including payroll governance, HR policies, compliance, HRMS, audits, and employee lifecycle management.
  • Ensure compliance with all labour laws, statutory requirements, and governance frameworks across locations.
  • Establish robust HR metrics and analytics for business decision-making.

Talent Acquisition

  • Lead leadership and critical talent hiring strategies across corporate and plant operations.
  • Strengthen employer branding and talent pipeline initiatives for manufacturing and technical talent.
  • Build scalable recruitment processes to support future growth.

Talent Management & Leadership Development

  • Drive performance management, succession planning, competency mapping, and high-potential development programs.
  • Create strong leadership development and capability-building frameworks across levels.
  • Institutionalise learning culture and technical as well as behavioural development initiatives.

Culture & Employee Engagement

  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and people-centric culture.
  • Lead employee engagement, diversity initiatives, communication programs, and change management interventions.
  • Build organisation-wide alignment around company values and leadership behaviours.

Skills and qualifications

Desired Candidate Profile

  • MBA / PGDM in Human Resources from a reputed institute.
  • 20+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in automotive, auto component, engineering, or manufacturing organisations.
  • Strong exposure to both Corporate HR and Plant HR environments.
  • Proven expertise in Industrial Relations and handling unionised workforce environments is mandatory.
  • Experience managing HR for multiple manufacturing locations.
  • Strong understanding of Indian labour laws and manufacturing compliance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success in organisational transformation, talent development, and HR process excellence.
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership influencing capabilities.
  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in execution.

Preferred Background

  • Experience with large Indian or multinational auto component manufacturing companies.
  • Exposure to high-growth and transformation-led business environments.
  • Prior experience working closely with promoters, board members, or global leadership teams would be advantageous.
