Our client is a high-growth, publicly listed retail leader in India that is rapidly expanding and reshaping the market.

In this role, you will lead the creative direction and end-to-end design strategy for all apparel collections, staying ahead of fashion and cultural trends to ensure continuous innovation and market differentiation. You will oversee the entire design lifecycle—from initial concept creation, fabric selection, and prototyping to final execution—while managing and mentoring a team of designers to foster a high-performance creative culture. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with marketing, merchandising, sourcing, and production teams to ensure seamless alignment between design, storytelling, and the overall go-to-market strategy.

The ideal candidate brings 12–16 years of experience in apparel and fashion design, including at least 3–4 years in a leadership role, backed by a degree from a reputable design institute like NIFT or equivalent. Transitioning away from a premium or luxury focus, this role requires a proven track record within high-volume fast-fashion or value-format brands, with specific expertise in high-turnover menswear being essential. You must possess a sharp understanding of global commercial trends, fast-turnaround silhouettes, cost-effective textiles, and scalable production finishes. Striking the perfect balance between agile creativity and sharp commercial acumen is key, allowing you to drive execution excellence in a rapid-to-market environment while leveraging your excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills to guide a fast-paced design team.
