Roles and Responsibilites
-Design and develop Brushed DC (BDC) and Brushless DC (BLDC) motors based on product and customer requirements.
-Perform electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical design calculations to optimize motor performance.
-Utilize motor design and simulation tools such as ANSYS Maxwell, Motor-CAD, JMAG, or equivalent software.
-Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and technical documentation.
-Optimize motor efficiency, torque, speed, power density, and thermal characteristics.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electronics, manufacturing, testing, and quality.
-Support prototype development, validation testing, and troubleshooting of design-related issues.
-Drive continuous improvements in motor design for cost optimization, manufacturability, and product reliability.
-Ensure designs comply with industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
-Provide technical support during production, product qualification, and customer interactions.
Skills and qualifications
-Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
-8–15 years of experience in DC motor design, including Brushed DC (BDC) and/or Brushless DC (BLDC) motors.
-Strong understanding of electromagnetic design principles, motor theory, magnetic circuits, and motor performance optimization.
-Hands-on experience with motor design and simulation software such as ANSYS Maxwell, Motor-CAD, JMAG, Flux, or equivalent.
-Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, or CATIA for mechanical design integration.
-Knowledge of thermal analysis, structural analysis, and finite element analysis (FEA) techniques.
Experience in prototype development, motor testing, validation, and design verification.
-Familiarity with manufacturing processes, material selection, tolerancing, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
