Roles and Responsibilites
Key Responsibilities
- Own the overall business strategy and P&L, driving disbursement growth, revenue, and profitability targets.
- Lead expansion of the existing product portfolio (Women Entrepreneurship Loans, SME/MSME Loans, Loan Against Securities, Business Loans) and identify new product opportunities such as Loan Against Mutual Funds/Shares, working capital products, co-lending partnerships, digital/instant lending, and Loan Against Property.
- Build, manage, and expand distribution channels including branches, DSAs (Direct Selling Agents), channel partners, and digital/online acquisition.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new geographies and customer segments.
- Establish and manage co-lending and partnership arrangements with banks and larger NBFCs to scale the loan book efficiently.
- Drive cross-sell opportunities across the broader group's broking, depository, and wealth management businesses.
- Set up and monitor sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics across the business development team.
- Build and lead a high-performing business development and sales team, including hiring, training, and mentoring regional/zonal teams.
- Ensure alignment with credit, risk, operations, and compliance functions to maintain healthy portfolio quality while scaling.
- Represent the company in key stakeholder discussions, including with banks, financial institutions, investors, and regulatory bodies as required.
- Track market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments in the NBFC/lending space to inform strategy.
Skills and qualifications
- 10–15+ years of experience in NBFC, banking, microfinance, SME lending, or LAP/LAS businesses, with a track record of scaling loan books.
- Prior experience in a senior business leadership role (CBO, Business Head, National Sales Head, or similar) with P&L ownership.
- Strong understanding of secured and unsecured lending products, credit cycles, and distribution models (branch, DSA, co-lending, digital).
- Demonstrated experience building or scaling distribution networks and sales teams across multiple states/regions.
- Experience with co-lending arrangements, bank partnerships, or channel partnerships is highly desirable.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with credit, risk, operations, and compliance teams.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
