Director Accounting and Controls

About the Company

Our client is a scaled-up climate-tech company with a global presence and operations across multiple countries. The company is at a stage where it is strengthening its finance infrastructure, controls and processes to support continued growth and fundraising.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Drive a disciplined month-end close and financial reporting process.
• Oversee global accounting operations, reconciliations and consolidation across entities and currencies.
• Manage IFRS reporting, intercompany accounting, FX and audit readiness.
• Coordinate with external auditors, consultants and local accounting teams across jurisdictions.
• Strengthen finance processes, accounting policies and internal controls.
• Govern and optimise the Odoo ERP, reducing manual processes and improving system usage.
• Support fundraising, financial due diligence and data-room preparation.
• Build and implement an organisation-wide Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) framework.
• Manage and collaborate with outsourced accounting teams and global stakeholders across time zones.

Skills and qualifications

• Chartered Accountant
• 8-10 years of experience in controllership/accounting roles.
• Strong experience in multi-entity and multi-currency environments.
• Strong expertise in IFRS reporting and financial consolidation.
• Proven experience managing outsourced accounting teams.
• Strong exposure to audits, tax compliance and regulatory filings, preferably across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong understanding of consolidation, intercompany accounting, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Experience with ERP systems; Odoo exposure is highly preferred.
• Strong controllership and audit mindset, with high attention to financial accuracy and process rigor.
• Ability to build and implement processes and drive discipline across teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, particularly with global teams.
