Head of Finance || D2C Startup

About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing, bootstrapped consumer wellness brand that is redefining its category through innovation and a strong consumer-first approach. With ambitious growth plans, the company is looking for its first finance leader to join the core leadership team and partner closely with the Founder to build a scalable business.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and MIS.
• Partner with the Founder on strategic initiatives and business decisions.
• Build robust finance processes, controls, and governance frameworks.
• Drive fundraising, investor reporting, and board presentations as the company grows.
• Oversee accounting, taxation, audits, compliance, and cash flow management.
• Build and scale the finance team over time.

Skills and qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred; MBA (Finance) or CFA is an added advantage.
• 8–10 years of experience across Business Finance, Corporate Finance, FP&A, Investment Banking, Consulting, or high-growth startup environments.
• Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, MIS, and financial analysis.
• Experience in building financial models, driving strategic initiatives, and supporting business decision-making.
• Sound knowledge of accounting, taxation, audits, compliance, and financial controls.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence founders, investors, and senior leadership.
• Proven ability to build processes, implement scalable systems, and thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with a hands-on approach and willingness to build from the ground up.
• High ownership mindset, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a passion for scaling consumer businesses.
• Prior experience in a consumer, D2C, retail, or startup ecosystem is preferred.
