About the Company
Our client is a leading Indian non-profit organisation working closely with government institutions to strengthen public health systems and deliver high-impact healthcare programmes across the country. They are seeking a senior leader to head their Health Analytics and AI function, driving the use of advanced analytics and AI across large-scale digital health and health protection programmes. The ideal candidate will bring strong Data Science and AI expertise, experience leading technical teams and large technology transformations, and the ability to translate complex policy and operational challenges into actionable, decision-grade insights.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the Health Analytics and AI Unit (HAAU) end-to-end, owning the unit’s workplan, delivery, priorities, and relationships with senior leadership.
- Scale the unit’s analytics capabilities from diagnostic and decision intelligence towards predictive and prescriptive analytics.
- Translate policy and operational challenges into predictive, prescriptive, and scenario-modelling problems, delivering decision-grade insights.
- Drive the use of AI to develop high-quality, AI-ready datasets and enable governed access to health data for researchers and partners.
- Lead and develop a high-performing technical team comprising Data Scientists, AI/ML Engineers, and subject-matter specialists.
- Bring programme-management discipline to the unit, including planning, prioritisation, risk management, stakeholder management, and leadership-ready communication.
- Drive large-scale technology transformation and adoption, while building long-term institutional analytics and AI capabilities.
- Embed strong data governance and privacy-by-design principles across the unit’s analytics and AI initiatives.
Skills and qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, or AI, with proven experience leading technical teams in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Data Science and AI, including forecasting, risk stratification, anomaly detection, machine learning, LLMs, and modern AI tools.
- Experience leading large-scale technology transformation initiatives, preferably within government, public sector, healthcare, or large institutional settings.
- Good working understanding of govt public health schemes along with familiarity with health financing and health economics.
- Strong programme and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate policy and operational challenges into predictive, prescriptive, and scenario-modelling solutions.
- Hands-on technical fluency in Python, SQL, machine learning, and LLM tooling, alongside strong people leadership and communication skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Public Health, Economics, or a related field.
