About the Company

A leading organisation in the automotive and electric mobility 2-Wheeler space.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Operations, Capex & Capacity Planning
  • Formulate and execute the plant’s production strategy, annual budget estimation, headcount models, and milestone timelines aligned with organizational targets.
  • Lead end-to-end Capex planning, technical evaluations, business-case approvals, vendor negotiations, procurement, and on-time commissioning of assembly lines, robotics, and testing equipment.
  • Design and deploy structured ramp-up frameworks to scale daily run rates (DRR) smoothly from low-volume trials to multi-shift, high-volume capacity.
  • Architect plant processes, homolgation audits, and export-compliant lines to meet stringent international quality, safety, and regulatory standards for overseas shipments.
  • Process Engineering & New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Lead process planning by drafting, reviewing, and approving Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP/SOS) integrated with line balancing.
  • Partner with R&D, Hardware Engineering, Sourcing, and Quality teams across all product life-cycle stages to optimize component designs for manufacturability, cost, reliability, and serviceability.
  • Direct manufacturing feasibility studies and pilot build lines for future EV platforms, battery modules, and connected vehicle hardware.
  • Operational Excellence, Quality & Cost Optimization
  • Drive structured productivity, scrap-reduction, and Lean/TPM/Six Sigma initiatives (Kaizen, VSM, SMED) to lower conversion cost per vehicle.
  • Maintain stringent quality benchmarks (OEE, First Pass Yield, DPU) across incoming quality, in-process assembly, end-of-line (EOL) dynamometer testing, and battery safety protocols.
  • Oversee the adoption of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), SCADA, IoT traceability, and automated torqueing/flashing systems.
  • Supply Chain Synchronization & Advisory
  • Serve as the core operational advisor to the executive leadership team regarding material availability, inventory run-out risks, supply constraints, and capacity bottlenecks.
  • Ensure JIT/JIS material flow, kitting, and internal warehouse/logistics efficiency to eliminate line starvation during ramp-up.
  • Leadership, People & EHS
  • Human Capital Leadership: Direct talent acquisition, technical upskilling (battery safety, high-voltage assembly), performance management, retention, and succession planning for the plant workforce.
  • Maintain harmonious employee and industrial relations (IR), fostering an agile, safety-first, and zero-accident culture adhering to ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and statutory labor laws.

Skills and qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s / master’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Production, Automobile, or Industrial Engineering. An MBA in Operations/Supply Chain Management is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 16 – 20+ years of progressive manufacturing experience in two-wheeler OEMs, Tier-1 automotive systems, or high-tech electro-mechanical assembly operations.
  • At least 5–7 years in a Plant Head / Unit Head capacity.
  • Technical Acumen:
  • In-depth understanding of chassis assembly, wiring harness routing, electric powertrains, motor controllers, and automated battery pack assembly (micro-welding, BMS flashing, EOL testing).
  • Mastery of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Line Balancing, and statistical quality control tools.
  • Agility to navigate ambiguity in a high-growth technology culture, strategic capex evaluation, data-driven decision-making, and strong executive stakeholder management.
