For Talent/Open roles
Business Head - Menswear
About the Company
Our client is a high-growth, publicly listed retail leader in India that is rapidly expanding and reshaping the market.
Roles and Responsibilities
The incumbent will formulate and execute the annual operating plan (AOP) across all menswear sub-categories, directly managing revenue, gross margins, ASP, and category profitability while maintaining healthy inventory health and optimized open-to-buy (OTB) budgets. They will spearhead range planning, option frameworks, and pricing architecture to maximize full-price sell-through rates, partner with design teams to translate emerging global runway and street trends into high-velocity commercial lines, orchestrate an agile vendor and sourcing matrix to compress manufacturing lead times and COGS, and align cross-functional teams across marketing, visual merchandising, e-commerce, and regional store operations to drive omnichannel volume expansion.
Skills and qualifications
This role demands a mandatory degree from NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) or a premier equivalent fashion institute in Fashion Management, Apparel Production, or Fashion Design (supplemented ideally by an MBA), backed by 15+ years of apparel experience with at least 5+ years steering category management or buying for a high-volume menswear brand or large-format retailer. Candidates must demonstrate deep commercial fluency in advanced retail mathematics—including GMROI, OTB modeling, markdown controls, and full-price sell-through optimization—alongside the technical agility to run fast-chase development cycles that turn emerging trends into shelf-ready stock. The position requires established sourcing and negotiation mastery across major domestic and global manufacturing hubs, strong cross-functional leadership spanning design, supply chain, and retail operations, and a consistent track record of driving aggressive top-line volume growth while protecting bottom-line category margins.
What's On Offer
A competitive executive compensation package with performance incentives, full P&L autonomy to scale a flagship menswear portfolio across omnichannel markets, and a high-impact leadership seat driving commercial strategy and creative direction in a dynamic, high-growth retail environment.
